“Know Your Rights” Immigration Outreach
By providing valuable information and defensive strategies to members of sangat if they are questioned or stopped by immigration agents -- we set out to show the community how to assert their rights! We have been tabling at Bay Area Guru Ghars, and have also mailed informational materials to community members across the US to reach the sangat in their respective areas.
Teen empowerment workshops

Provide a safe space to help bridge gaps between new and older generation of Sikhs.
Currently, we are producing videos specific to “Know Your Rights” for wide circulation.
Also, check out our resources page for informational handouts in English & Punjabi.
SFC concluded its year-long participation in a Survivor Centered Advocacy Project through the Asian Pacific Islander Institute on Gender Based Violence (API-GBV). SFC compiled the qualitative data gathered from focus groups and storytelling interviews facilitated in California. Participants of these focus groups and interviews included survivors of gender-based violence (specifically family violence), as well as, community members who regularly work (formally or informally) with survivors of violence. The findings of the project were presented to API-GBV, thought partners, and now we have released the report, in English and Punjabi, back to our community!
