WHO MAKES UP SFC?

We are run by a dedicated group of volunteers, many of who are fluent in both English and Punjabi and trained to provide culturally-sensitive peer counseling and information. Our volunteers hold a range of professional qualifications and competencies as domestic violence advocates, physicians, community organizers, teachers, youth activists, writers, students, youth counselors, mental health professionals, attorneys, academics, and Gurdwara leaders.

YOU CAN GET INVOLVED, TOO!

  • Want to provide culturally-sensitive support to people seeking help? Train with us to become a Peer Counselor.
  • Fluent in Punjabi? Help us translate important resources and create community-specific materials.
  • A voracious reader or researcher? Help us compile resource materials.
  • Enjoy working with teenagers and youth? Conduct a college-prep workshop with your local teens using our toolkit.
