About SFC

Sikh Family Center promotes community health and well-being with a special focus on gender justice. We provide trauma-centered interventions for victim-survivors of violence while working to change the social and cultural conditions that allow gendered violence to occur in the first place. Our training, outreach, and advocacy are grounded in cultural tradition, grassroots power, and intergenerational healing.

ਸਿੱਖ ਫੈਮਿਲੀ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਸ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਿੰਗ-ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਪੀੜਿਤ-ਪਰਬਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਦਮੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਾਜਕ-ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਿੰਗ-ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖ ਫੈਮਲੀ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ, ਬਾਹਰਲੀ-ਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਂਝ-ਨਿਵਾਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
